Helsinki Hive
A Non-Iconic and Community-Building Architecture and Design Museum embodies five aspirational values: DYNAMIC, SOCIAL, SUSTAINABLE, RELATIONAL and DEMOCRATIC. They guide the museum's formal organisation, spatial design, programmatic adjacencies, as well as materials selection. Envisioned as an architecture of civic creativity and conviviality, we strive for an inclusive and community-centred design, by inviting Helsinki's residents' participations and inputs. We are also mindful that a building is situated in place and time, where context and the profiles of time are materialised, celebrated, and witnessed in the architecture at the urban, architecture and interior scales.
